About
Child Friendly Cities
Child Friendly Cities & Communities is a UK Committee for UNICEF (UNICEF UK) programme that works with councils to put children’s rights into practice.
UNICEF UK provides training based on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and supports councils, their partners, and children and young people, to work together on an ambitious three-to-five-year journey towards international recognition as a UNICEF UK Child Friendly City or Community.
Child Friendly Nottingham
Child Friendly Nottingham is a partnership initiative between Nottingham City Council, local businesses and public organisations across the city. We are working together to create a city where all children feel safe, cared for, listened to, and able to thrive.
Our aim is to become a UNICEF UK recognised Child Friendly City by putting Children’s Rights at the centre of this project.
Before the project started we got in touch with over 10,000 young people, children and with parents and carers to find out what is important to them. Watch this video to see what they said.
